Psychiatric Technician I
Under the supervision of providers, leadership or RNs,the Psychiatric Technician performs various duties to assist in thetreatment and care of psychiatric patients in accordance with theestablished methods and procedures of Psychiatric ServicesInpatient Unit and Rutland Regional Medical Center. MinimumEducation - High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degreepreferred. Minimum Work Experience - Health or mental health careexperience preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications -Certificate in mental health technology or related field, such aslicensed nursing assistant preferred. - BLS Certification throughAmerican Heart Association* - Completion of endorsedpatient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification**required within 1 month of hire Required Skills, Knowledge, andAbilities - Excellent interpersonal and observation skills. -Ability to report patient care observations, deviations frompatient's plan of care and other pertinent information under directsupervision. - Ability to remain calm and think and act effectivelyin high stress situations. - Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills. - Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basiccomputer skills. - Successful completion of functional testing forphysical requirements prior to hire.
