Front Office Assistant

Provides integral first contact for all the cliniccustomers including patients, referring offices, physicians, andproviders. Serves as the initial impression for many customers andis important to the organization’s customer service reputation.Responsible for key components of finical integrity of each patientencounter including registering patients with complete demographic,insurance, and clinical information to assure accurate records andtimely billing for services rendered, providing accurateinformation regarding payments to the patients and collectingco-payments at point of service. Appropriately handles multipleincoming phone calls and face to face conversations from a varietyof customers with high levels of integrity, triaging, and troubleshooting. Communicates with patients any pertinent visitinformation, such as when to arrive and any preparation for theirclinic visits, diagnostic testing, or procedure. Helps clinicalstaff as needed and performs all the clerical duties necessary forpatients to be seen within the clinic timely. Focus will always beon patient needs and efficient use of hospital resources. MinimumEducation - High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum WorkExperience - 2 years secretarial experience or medical officetraining including 1 year patient or customer service experience. -Experience using a computerized health information system. RequiredSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities - Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills. - Demonstrated strong knowledge of basiccomputer skills. - Demonstrated moderate knowledge of MedicalTerminology.
